While the impact of the pandemic on single dimension indicators such as revenue is obvious, exploration of multidimensional indicators is more nuanced, yet yields new insights into market effects. Using GPN point of sale data from 3,000 ECP locations, we follow 4 unique vision market indicators: capture rate, optical share of total revenue, patient-paid share of eyeglasses, and insurance payments as a % of daily collections. All show extreme changes during the first peak of the pandemic, and by selecting a state to narrow results, you can explore geographic differences.
